BMS Racing on the Speedway

It was an adrenaline fuelled, action packed day out on the 1st July for the Bedford Modern School as their BMS Racing team once again took their finely tuned vehicles to compete in the latest Greenpower Racing Season at the Rockingham Motor Speedway at Corby.

The team took with them their stalwart vehicle, the Pink Panther, newly liveried and now sporting the number '56' to show the car's finishing position at the International Finals last season. Also in attendance was their more recent addition, Lazarus, sporting its new position number '166' after a dramatic performance improvement from the previous season which saw it move up from the 285th place.

The team got off to a flying start, with the Pink Panther stealing ground quickly, however mid-way through the race disaster struck when the car's nose cone detached. Emergency repairs occurred in the pit stop involving copious amounts of gaffer tape and soon the Panther was back and lapping up the track but, despite a stellar performance from car and driver, it was sadly not enough to reach the position the team were aiming for.

The team's other car, Lazarus, with numerous modifications since its last track day showed major progress during the race and, with the help of a gearing change during a race break, managed to successfully complete the course with better results than even the team had imagined.

The Limesquare Group wish to congratulate the BMS Racing team on their continuing progress up the national leader board to positions 44 and 68 out of 150 and we are looking forward to hearing about the team's achievements in the next race; we have our fingers crossed!
